The event was a smashing success. With over 80 in attendance, the group was diverse and engaging. The wine was complimented over and over along with the new introduction of images of Poggioreale, Sicily, Italy by fine art photographer Ruth Burke. Go to the Italy section of the website to view the new selection.
We thank Marty Campisi for bringing these great wines to us and for Sicilian Village for introducing thier Sicilian marinated olives at the tasting. By the way the olives are available on Amazon.com and they are great.
We will keep you posted for the date of the next Wine-Tasting. Your replies and comments are always welcome.
Seaside Gallery has been chosen to host a debut wine tasting for a selection of wines produced by the Madonna del Piraino winery near Poggioreale, Sicily in Italy under the Villa Scaminaci label. Their website is www.villascaminaci.it.
These are great tasting wines produced from the black D'Avola grape that is indigenous to the Sicilian region. The selection includes a red NERO D'AVOLA, a white CHARDONAY and white CATARRATO. The quality is exceptional.
For those who don't know, I am a descendant of the Buttacavoli and Salvaggio families of Poggioreale. For the event, there will also be an exhibit of my fine art photography from Poggioreale, Sicily in the gallery. I am very much looking forward to visiting and sharing stories with you all.
Please join us with family and friends for this special wine tasting event.
